This Monday, if your email is a mess, you're not alone. Users of Microsoft Outlook have been complaining online about what seems to be a problem with their junk filter. This means that they are getting a lot of spam that usually gets sent somewhere else.
A Twitter user named @bdsams posted a picture of what looked like his inbox, and it was full of obvious junk. We're talking about email addresses made up of random numbers, fake security messages, and obvious attempts to steal your information through phishing.
It's not clear what's going on or when the problem might be fixed. Mashable asked Microsoft to explain and give more information, but did not hear back right away. When or if the company has something to say, we will add it to the story.
Tom Warren from The Verge said that his Outlook inbox had 20 spam messages when he woke up this morning and that new ones kept coming in all morning. If you go to Twitter, you can see that Warren is not the only one who feels that way.
Hallie Rubenhold, a British author and historian, wrote on Twitter, "I'm being bombarded. Please, someone stop it!"
Keeping your inbox clean can be very important, especially when it comes to your job. We hope that there will soon be more information and a way to fix the problem.
